What is Unravel Counseling?

Unravel Counseling was created to support you through the quiet suffering that can emerge in adulthood, when you begin to untangle your past and plan for your future. Mental illness and life stressors can feel confusing, lonely, and deeply personal. In this space, you move at your own pace with someone who holds nothing but empathy, respect, and hope for you. There is no pressure to reach a certain outcome. Instead, I aim to help you identify a sense of self, gain coping skills, and decide what to carry into your future.

Hannah Whitaker, LCSW

Hi, I’m Hannah. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Utah State University (go Aggies!) and Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah (go Utes!). I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been working as a therapist since 2021. I am especially drawn to supporting young adults and adults as they navigate emotional well-being and life stressors.

I have particular experience working with individuals navigating faith or religious transitions, as well as those healing from the emotional impact of rigid belief systems. My approach is empathetic, understanding, and grounded in respect for your personal autonomy. There is no agenda or pressure to reach a certain outcome.

My goal as a therapist is to create a safe, empowering space where you can explore what’s weighing on you, feel heard and understood, create goals, adopt coping skills, and begin living with more meaning and freedom.

I offer flexible telehealth sessions on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings to accommodate busy schedules and responsibilities. I accept self-pay as well as the following insurances: Aetna, United (UHC), BCBS, PEHP, and SelectHealth. I also offer free 15-minute consultations to make sure we are a good fit.

Thank you for trusting me with your story. You don’t have to figure this out alone.
